Russia’s financial watchdog, Rosfinmonitoring, has escalated its crackdown on cryptocurrency transactions, declaring that digital asset anonymity is a "myth." The agency confirmed that domestic crypto exchanges are voluntarily sharing user data with law enforcement—without requiring court orders—despite lacking formal legal recognition in the country.

Olga Tisen, Rosfinmonitoring’s legal chief, revealed the surveillance measures during the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum. The disclosure follows Russia’s recent ban on USDT and enforcement actions against illegal mining operations, signaling Moscow’s hardening stance against perceived crypto risks.
